Weekly Recap #1 | Things That Made Me Happy

things that made me happy #1

Hello beauties!

I hope all of you having a great weekend so far. “Weekly Recap | Things That Made Me Happy” is another series where I will be sharing all the things that made me happy. My goal is to spread some happiness and gratitude of little or big things that are happening in my life, and encourage others to share their happy/grateful things of the week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. I mean, we live in a world full of senseless violence, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I find, makes me open my eyes a bit more to appreciate the little things…Don’t you agree?

Feel free to share things that made you happy this week. Here are mine ♡

4 Days Off From Work
Having every weekend off is amazing, but having an extended couple days off added to your weekend is a blessing. It’s not often I get to do this, but I was happy to have some extra days off to spend more time with my family and have some “Me Time” too.

Decorating For Annabella’s Birthday Party
This year was the first year I was able to spend some extra time on decorating the house for Annabella’s birthday party. I wasn’t sure what theme I was going to do, and she didn’t really have any preference. So, I have decided to go to the store and see what speaks to me. Well, after some thinking, looking and debating I have decided to go with a theme called “Colors”. I chose five of Annabella’s favorite colors which are pink, purple, yellow, green and aqua and try to mix and match them. What a great idea that was!!! The house was completed transformed and we were ready to party.

Celebrating Annabella’s 8th Birthday
My youngest daughter turned 8 years old on May 28. It seems like just yesterday we welcomed this baby girl into the world and now we celebrating her 8th birthday. Time definitely flies! We celebrated her special day among close family and friends at home. It was an amazing time to get everyone together, play games, eat pizza, splash in the pool and of course have a piece of a birthday cake.

Spending Quality Time With My Kids
On Sunday, my girls and I spend quality time together which felt amazing. All we did was relax at home, watch movies, and later on in the afternoon we took Annabella shopping, since most of her presents included gift cards and cash. She even treated her sister and I to Starbucks. Yes, girl received a gift card to Starbucks too. I’m in big trouble!!! We spend our evening at the pool, watching sunset and eating ice cream.

Having Some “Me Time”
I used to be horrible at taking time for myself. I always put others first and me last. Always had excuses. House needs to be cleaned, dinner needs to be cooked, laundry needs to be done, kids need help with homework, etc…This year, I vowed to myself that I’ll get better at that. On Sunday, I was able to take some time for myself. I took a long bath, read, had some wine, pampered myself with extended skincare routine. It felt amazing!!!

Memorial Day Parade + Brunch With Kids And Mother-In-Law
This year was our first year we attended Memorial Day Parade here and Sarasota Florida since we moved three and a half years ago. It was an amazing event. The city did a great job organizing the event. After the parade we decided to have some brunch. I’m so glad that my mother-in-law is now closer to us since she retired last year and moved from Hawaii to live in Sarasota with my father-in-law.

Finding A Summer Camp For Annabella
We had a hard time finding a summer camp this year. Of course, it didn’t help when we missed a summer camp registration by a couple of days that Annabella was attending in the past couple of years. Thank you to her teachers who were able to pull some strings for us and my mother-in-law. Annabella will be going to Creativity & Movement Camp. She will be learning, dancing, acting, discovering movements, expressing herself creatively and having fun!

Getting A Haircut
I decided to go a little bit out of my comfort zone and cut my hair shorter. I’m so glad I did. Emily, my hairstylist did a great job as she always does and it’s so easy to take care of. It’s perfect for the summer!

Last Day Of School
Summer is finally here and that means kids finally get a break from school. We hope to get a chance to travel a bit this summer and explore what Florida has to offer.

Treating Myself To Starbucks
It’s sort of became a tradition for me now. Every Friday on the pay day, I stop by Starbucks in the morning and get myself some coffee before work. I like to pay forward with buying a car behind me their coffee too. I’ve had that happen to me before on several occasions, so I wanted to do the same for somebody else. I’m officially a gold start member and received my personal card with my name on it few days ago. So happy! I love their new rewards program. Collecting starts is so much fun.
