Weekly Recap #2 | Things That Made Me Happy

things that made me happy #2

Hello beauties!

I hope all of you having a great weekend so far. “Weekly Recap | Things That Made Me Happy” is another series where I will be sharing all the things that made me happy. My goal is to spread some happiness and gratitude of little or big things that are happening in my life, and encourage others to share their happy/grateful things of the week.

Sometimes all it takes is gentle reminders of things that make us grateful or appreciative. I mean, we live in a world full of senseless violence, poverty, famine, and tragedy – reflecting on the positive, I find, makes me open my eyes a bit more to appreciate the little things…Don’t you agree?

Feel free to share things that made you happy this week. Here are mine ♡

Celebrating My Father-In-Law’s 79th Birthday
We had an amazing time celebrating my father-in-law’s birthday this past weekend. He turned 79 years old. This was our first time celebrating his birthday as a family. Even though my husband and I been married for 8 1/2 years, we never got a chance to visit my in-laws when they lived in Hawaii. My father-in-law was and is a stay at home body, so he never was able to come and visit us. Believe it or not, the first time I’ve met my father-in-law was when they moved here to Sarasota last year. So, back to the birthday celebration. We had dinner at Checker’s (my in-laws favorite restaurant). They have the most delicious custard…yum! Then, we went back to their home for some cake and to open presents. The next morning, he said to my mother-in-law that it was the best birthday since his 60th. I’m so happy we got to celebrate his special day together.

Having More “Me Time” To Get Ready In The Mornings
This week was the first week that kids have been out of school. That means, they can now sleep in in the mornings, while mommy gets a chance to get ready for the work day without interruptions. It felt amazing! I was able to sleep in a little, have some quite time to myself, do my makeup and have some quality time to spend with my husband. I definitely cherish moments like this as a mom, because let’s face it we as moms don’t get to do this often.

Receiving My 1st Birchbox
I recently subscribed to Birchbox. I read a lot of reviews about it, which were positive and decided to try it for myself. This week, I received my 1st box (May Edition). I can’t wait to try all the beauty products that came in the box and will be reviewing them at the end of this month.

Recently, my mother-in-law started giving me coupons. She will safe the ones she knows I will like and give it to me in bulk every week. I always wanted to get into couponing, nothing crazy just the ones I know I’ll use, but never took time to sit down and try to sort them out, cut them up and actually use them when going grocery shopping. Well, yester11day I finally did it. And it was a lot more fun then I expected. Can’t wait to see how much I’ll safe when I’ll go shopping this weekend.
