best ways to refresh your makeup during the day

If you like me, who wears makeup from morning to night then you’re going to need to refresh it at some point during the day. My day typically starts pretty early. My makeup is picture perfect and completely selfie-worthy around 7 a.m. But after a long morning commute, a series of unexpected meetings, stress, spilled coffee and more stress later, it’s 2 p.m. and my makeup now slowly fading away. Oh no…

With smudges, redness and creasing in tow, a mid-day makeup application is often a necessary evil. But let’s be real, I often don’t have the time, patience or energy to completely re-do my entire look. Applying more product on top of an already made up face can leave me feeling cakey, overdone and just plain uncomfortable. It can be confusing to figure out exactly what parts need touching up. Some touch ups are helpful while others don’t have the same effect. Thankfully, I found few makeup and beauty products that helps me to bring my makeup back to life and I can easily bring with me to work in my small makeup bag.

Oil Blotters Are A Must
Before I go into refreshing my makeup, I use an oil blotting paper. They’re a must! They remove the oil, sweat and grime that’s built up on my face during the day. If you don’t follow this step then you’re just adding makeup into the mess. Oil blotters give your face the freshest start for touching up your makeup.

Adding A Touch Of Blush
Blush tends to fade away easily. Therefore, adding a small amount to revive my color is always a good idea. Cream blush is a nice option to carry with you since there’s no need for a brush. A few tiny dots blended in and my color is restored. Refreshing my blush always perks up my face.

Blending In Escaping Concealer
It’s a problem most of us have. The concealer you so carefully applied begins to gather in the fine lines under your eyes or around a blemish. I typically try to take a moment to blend in the excess. My makeup finish looks smoother and everything is still carefully concealed. This is an important part of refreshing my makeup.

Refreshing My Foundation By Touching Up With Powder
When most of us think of touching up our makeup, powder is one of the first products that come to mind. Powder is wonderful at keeping shine down on my face and holding my makeup in place. It has a special ability to make my makeup look complete. Mid-day meltdowns are a thing of the past when I refresh my powder. It’s one of the magic makeup products that’s always the right choice.

Reapply Eye Shadow In Your Crease
As my day drifts by, the eye shadow in my crease may start to disappear. This happens less when I use a primer, but it’s still something to contend with to some degree. It doesn’t take a lot for me to fix this mid-day makeup need. Applying the smallest amount of eye shadow to my crease again and I’m set to go. I may even have enough left on the brush from my morning application to do the job.

Skip Extra Mascara And Touch Up With Your Eyeliner Instead
Trying to apply another coat of mascara on top of my morning application doesn’t usually work out well. My lashes are hardened and adding another coat leaves me with crunchy, spidery lashes, which aren’t a good look. I usually skip revitalizing my mascara and try to concentrate on my eyeliner instead. Adding just a touch of eyeliner to the outer corners of my eyes will refresh my eye makeup and give me just what I need for the remainder of the day. It’s the perfect makeup trick to transition your makeup from day to evening, too.

Lipstick Is Always Important
Along with powder, lipstick is the other makeup product commonly thought of when it comes to touch ups. Lipstick does need a bit of assistance to get through the day. Eating and drinking can fade it into nothingness. It’s the part of my makeup that usually needs to be refreshed most often. Taking a moment to reapply it can pull my whole face together.

things in life you should never regret

One of the most difficult things to deal with in life is regret. Sometimes something will happen, and you will respond in the wrong way, and for a while thereafter you will wish you had done it differently. But eventually, you accept the experience as a lesson learned and you move on with your life.

Do you care what people think? I do. And in a way I think everyone does, but that is not the point. The point, in fact, is that though we may care what our mother, father, boss, teacher or best friend may think of us and our choices, we still must be satisfied with how we chose to live our own life. In saying this, I am hopeful that these few examples may assure you that the choices you made and may regret, are only choices to teach you that life is supposed to be lived, and sometimes mistakes are the only way we can grow. So here are a few reminders to inspire you to live life with no regrets.

1. Not Expressing Your Feelings To The People That You Love
We all love someone. Whether it be our family, our relatives, our friends, our kids or that someone special in your life. We tend to hide our feelings and we rarely tell them how we feel. Life is too short for us to feel weird or shy when it comes to telling our feelings. Cherish every moment that you can and grab the chance to express what you feel. We are never sure if tomorrow will come.

2. Asking For Forgiveness And Forgive Others
We are all human beings and it is in our nature to make mistakes. Throughout our entire lives, we are going to encounter people who will give us problems, and most probably, it will end with hurt and anger. But as I said, life is too short for holding grudges. Make the most out of this life by forgiving those who have hurt us, and asking for forgiveness to those people who we have hurt.

3. Falling Once And Never Trying Again
Life is full of opportunities, and everyone is given the chance to grab one’s dreams and goals. The only thin line between failing and achieving is how much effort and work you put into reaching what you desire. It is natural to fail, what is un natural is when you give up after failing once. That is when you accept that you are defeated.

4. Being Complacent With What You Have
As I’ve said in most of my posts, you deserve the best. If you have the capacity to achieve what you want, give your all. And in the smallest chance that you fail, you know you tried and gave your best. However, if you are content with being mediocre, you accept the fact that that’s the only thing that life has in store for you. So cherish the time that you have, and take the step to make your life better.

5. Choosing Your Life Partner
I believe that God has already paired us with one special person. And even if trials, problems, temptations and other hardships comes, no one should ever regret ending up with someone. After all, we were the ones who decided to be with that person and without them, we will not learn from our experiences with them and we will not be able to grow as a better person. Learn to understand why you end up with him/her because everything has a purpose.

6. Your Appearance
Everyone is made Beautiful. Every flaw, color, height or weight, built and body shape, everyone is made beautiful. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, that means that we are the ones who dictate what being beautiful means. Beauty is not all about the physical appearance of a person. Being beautiful means that may it be outward or inward appearance, you stay pleasing in the eyes of God. And that’s what matters.

7. Being Born Into This World
This probably is the most important thing that you should never regret; being able to live. Being alive alone is a great blessing. There are so many people in this world who suffers from something that affects the length of their lives. Even if they wish to live longer, they cannot. Never regret being alive. You will experience hardships, that is natural and all of us experience problems. That means that you are not alone.

In the end, we only regret the chances that we didn’t take, the relationships we were afraid to have, and the decisions we waited too long to make. So cherish the moments, do what you can and do not regret.

how to save money at Starbucks

Hello beautiful people! I have a little confession to make. I always wanted to work at Starbucks (part time, of course!). And not necessarily for the money, but for the experience. I, as I’m sure many of you love a good cup of coffee and Starbucks definitely tops my list. It just seems to add something magical to my day. Their coffee is always made to the perfection, the smell of the coffee shop is dreamy, customer service is outstanding, free WiFi, very clean and quiet and a great choice of music. But of course as we all know it comes with the price. I can’t afford daily trips to Starbucks (I wish, I could!), but I know few money saving tricks that I’ve learned over the years. You can still enjoy your favorite cup of coffee and treats without spending more than necessary.

Let Your Barista Know If Your Drink Is Wrong
The service at Starbucks is amazing, but errors can happen. If your barista gets your drink wrong then let them know. When this happens, they’ll usually fix you another beverage and allow you to keep the one that’s incorrect, too. They may even give you a coupon for a free drink for your next visit. So don’t just deal with a beverage you didn’t want; kindly let them know and it’ll work out to your advantage!

Order Two Cake Pops Instead Of One
Don’t you just love the cake pops from Starbucks? It’s a yummy treat you can enjoy without blowing your diet. Buying two of them cuts the price down on each. So order two and split with a friend or just have an extra to enjoy later. Always buy in volume if it cuts the price per item.

Take Some Extra Napkins With You
The reason you should take some extra napkins with you isn’t just for napkin usage. Starbucks napkins make great oil blotting sheets. If you’ve bought any oil blotting sheets lately then you know they’re expensive little beauty necessities. With the last of summer giving us its strongest heat and humidity, you’re sure to appreciate the dual purpose of Starbucks napkins. This can actually rack up great savings for you.

If You’re Craving Chocolate, Go For A Kid’s Hot Cocoa
A kid’s hot cocoa is way cheaper than adult sizes. It’s just as chocolaty and is enough to soothe your craving. You can still add shots of your faves to it and request extra whipped cream, just like in adult sizes. It’s true that the temp is a bit cooler, but that just means you won’t burn your tongue, right? It’s a win-win situation!

Get A Refill
Who knew? This one was news to me! This is a great reason to order a smaller size. You can get a refill on your beverage for fifty cents, which means you’re coming out way ahead by choosing this option. Don’t you love the thrill of knowing you’re getting a great deal?

Be Alert For Daily Specials
Sometimes Starbucks will offer daily specials. I often see signs advertising this at my local Starbucks. It’s usually something to the effect of bringing your receipt back later in the day and getting the same drink again for half the price. If that’s not beneficial to you because you try to limit your caffeine late in the day then you can always go decaf. You can also chill your beverage in the fridge so it’s waiting to be enjoyed the next morning.

each day I'm thankful for

Gratitude is a powerful process for shifting your energy and bringing more of what you want into life. Be grateful for what you already have and you will attract more good things.

I can think of so many reasons to be thankful for in my life today. In fact, if we accentuate the positive, we can all find so many reasons to smile about and appreciate what we have and what makes us happy. How many times a day do you stop, and thank God for all he has done for you in your life? We as humans take a lot of things for granted, everyday. Are you thankful for your family, your health, the roof over your head and the lovely parents that you have? Are you thankful for having the energy to do as much as you do in one day and being well enough to do this? And what about those gifts you have, whether it is your personality, passion, ambition or all three?

There are so many reasons to be thankful for, and today, I’m sharing some of mine.

My Life
The first and the most important reason I’m thankful for is my life. I have been blessed with an opportunity to live in this wonderful world. I may undergo hardships and trials (trust me, I’ve had and do have many!), but those are tests to make me even stronger. I wake up every morning and thank God for waking me up. I’m still breathing, I’m not in the hospital, sick with cancer or any other disease, I’m able to walk, to talk, to hear, to see. Life is Beautiful!!! Yes, both the Ups and the Downs. So, cherish every moment that you have, and live your life to the fullest. You only live once, so why not make the best of it.

My Family
I’m so thankful for having a big family. Unfortunately, we all live in different parts of the world, some in Russia, some in Uzbekistan and some in different states of US, but we find a way to communicate with each other and visit when we can. We are not perfect, but we always there for each other. They are the people who love me for who I am. I can’t imagine my life without them. They are the ones who accept all my imperfections, and the ones who are there in my times of need. They are the people who will love me eternally. So, if you have a family, you are very blessed. Enjoy every moment you have with them, because there are so many people who wish they had one.

My Friends
My best girls are the ones who are there for me when I need them. They are the ones who cheer me up when I’m down and the ones who will love me enough to rebuke me if I’ve done something wrong. They are there to fight for me when I can’t continue the fight. They are worth the gratitude. It’s not easy to find good and loyal friends. So please, hold to them very tight and appreciate having them in your life.

My Job
Having a job today is such a blessing. Unfortunately, we still have a lot of people who are jobless. Even with college education, people struggle to get hired. I’m fortunate to have a job and very happy in the place I work in. I work at the front desk for a big medical group. We have several physicians here, but I mainly work with a dermatologist, urologist and soon pulmonologist doctors. I’ve been doing this for almost 8 years now and I love what I do. So, yes I’m very thankful for my job and to be able to provide for my family. I know that it’s difficult for some of you to be thankful for your job, especially if you are in a position where you are doing something that you don’t really love. But think of if this way. Treat your current job as your stepping stone for achieving your ideal work. You are gaining skills and knowledge from your current job, and you can use those in the future.

My Possessions And My Privileges
Big or small, I’m thankful for what I have. I may not have much, but it’s better than having nothing. Be content with what you have. Remember, there are so many people who would give everything just to experience the life that you are living. Be content, but also, don’t be afraid to invest on something worth investing on. Remember, you also deserve the best things in this world.
