9 Best Foundations For Oily Skin in 2015

best foundations for oily skin

The best foundations for oily skin fight shine instead of adding to it. In fact, choosing a foundation that is tailored to your skin type can help improve the look of your skin even after you take your makeup off. With so many options, it’s hard to know where to begin. That is why I have made a list of the best foundations for oily skin. If your skin is oily, use oil-free liquid or powder foundation. They contain powders that absorb oil, leaving you with a matte, smooth finish.
1. Nars Sheer Matte Foundation
In a research poll, 100% of consumers who tried this foundation for oily skin said this product helps control oil and shine all day long. 100%!!! This formula is specially tailored to those with an oily skin type. The smooth foundation goes on sheer but can be layered for more coverage. This product enhances your skin without masking it. The skin brightening enhancers can improve the radiance and texture of your skin.
Update as of 02/2016: This product is no longer available. But I hope that Nars can bring it back in the near future.

I've tried a lot of foundations to help my oily skin, and no7 Stay Matte is the best. Have you tried it? It's sold at Boots in the UK, though I did see it in a store in New York which was weird! but I guess you can get it in the US. I've tried the Chanel one and I thought it was just awful, too powdery. I didn't know about the NARS one, I'll have to try it – who can argue with 100%!

This is such a useful post for someone with oily skin! I knew Nars had sheer glow, but never knew about Sheer Matte, err hello, sounds like it was just made for me! Thanks 🙂

Thank you Kima ♡ Sheer matte primarily best for normal/normal-oily/oily skin types. It has the most gorgeous soft matte finish that I've ever seen coming out of a matte foundation. Sheer Glow is best for normal/normal-dry/dry skin types as it imparts a dewy glow to your skin to keep it from looking dull. They both great foundations! The key is to try try both and see what best suits your skin type ♡

Hi Amy! I've never tried No 7 Stay Matte, but I've read great reviews about it ♡ I'll definatelly put that on my wish list. Nars is amazing, I suggest you try and let me know what you think ♡

Another good foundation for oily skin is the Mac matchmaster foundation! I went through a stage not that long ago of having really oily skin and this seemed to be the only thing that lasted all day!

    • February 20, 2016 / 1:49 am

Thank you so much for your recommendation! I love trying new makeup products and I’ll definitely add Mac Matchmaster Foundation on my wish list. I’ll be doing an updated post on Best Foundations For Oily Skin soon. So, I’ll see if it makes it on that list.

It is such a shame that the NARS Sheer Matte Foundation is unavailable anymore as I would love to try it – have the NARS Sheer Glow and I already love it, so if it was even more matte I just know that it would be my dream foundation! A more drugstore affordable version that I think is more recent is the L’oreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation. I have done a review on it if you would like to read it?

I was very disappointed myself when they discontinued NARS Sheer Matte Foundation. It was definitely one of my favorites. I need to get my hands on Loreal Infallible 24H Matte Foundation. I’m always up to try something new. And when I read your review, it sounds like it’s a good foundation. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment ♡
